Territorial Acknowledgement

At Palgrave United Church we acknowledge and reflect on the indigenous territory upon which our church stands and where we meet. For many thousands of years, this land was home to the

Huron-Wendat

These nations sought to walk gently and respectfully on this land. We recognize their long-standing personal and spiritual relationship with this territory.  Through Treaty 19, we entered into a sacred covenant with these nations and peoples. We recommit ourselves to honouring our obligations and responsibilities as treaty people. We acknowledge our part in building and sustaining respectful relationships with these indigenous nations as we move forward on the path of reconciliation.
